The Four Seeds

Four seeds that have four seeds… Read more to find out some guiding ideas and applications.

Overview

the idea four

The idea for Four Seeds came about from the passage in Mark regarding the sower and his seeds. While this is a quick overview, I would love to share more when we meet!

  • Some seed falls along the path and is eaten by birds
  • Some seed falls on rocky ground and does not survive due to lack of roots
  • Some seed falls among thorns and gets chocked out
  • Some seed falls on rich soil and has the potential to produce up to a hundredfold

Foundations

the core four

Whenever life gets overwhelming, it’s great to have some basics to return to. I call these our foundations and they include:

  • getting some healthy food into us
  • getting the sleep we need
  • connecting with our people
  • getting outside and moving our body

Focus

the focus four

When we are practicing new skills it’s helpful to have some places to focus on and return to when things get hard. For my work these are:

  • our thoughts
  • our emotions
  • our behaviors
  • our values

Reasons

the final four

We all have our own reasons for wanting and/or needing therapy. Each of us has to find these motivations that keep us going when the work gets messy, scary, and hard. I encourage every client to find the hopes, the values, the reasons, and the reminders to stay the course.

Let’s connect and work together!
